COVID-19 POLICY

Policy brief & purpose

This company policy includes the measures we are actively taking to mitigate the spread of coronavirus. You are requested to follow all these rules diligently, to sustain a healthy and safe workplace in this unique environment. It's important that we all respond responsibly and transparently to these health precautions, We assure you that we will always treat your private health and personal data with high confidentiality and sensitivity.

This coronavirus (COVID-19) company policy is susceptible to changes with the introduction of additional governmental guidelines. If so, we will update you as soon as possible by email, intranet or toolbox meetings.

 

Scope

This coronavirus policy applies to all of our employees who physically work in our offices, production, and on sites.

 

Policy elements

Here, we outline the required actions employees should take to protect themselves and their co-workers from a potential coronavirus infection.

 

Sick leave arrangments:

  • If you have cold symptoms, such as cough/sneezing/fever, or feel poorly, request sick leave or work from home.
  • If you have a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, you can return to the office only after you’ve fully recovered, with a doctor’s note confirming your recovery, or a negative PCR-test result.
  •  

Work from home requests:

  • If you are feeling ill, but you are able to work, you can request to work from home.
  • If you have recently returned from areas with a high number of COVID-19 cases (based on govern-mental announcements), we’ll ask you to work from home for 14 calendar days, and return to the office only if you are fully asymptomatic. You will also be asked not to come into physical contact with any colleagues during this time.
  • If you’ve been in close contact with someone infected by COVID-19, with high chances of being in-fected yourself, request work from home. You will also be asked not to come into physical contact with any colleagues during this time.
  • If you’re a parent and you have to stay at home with your children, request work from home. Follow up with your manager or departmental leader to make arrangements and set expectations.
  • If you need to provide care to a family member infected by COVID-19, request work from home. You’ll only be permitted to return to the office 14 calendar days after your family member has fully recovered, provided that you’re asymptomatic or you have a doctor’s note confirming you don’t have the virus. You will also be asked not to come into physical contact with any colleagues during this time.

 

Travelling/commuting measures:

  • In-person meetings should be done virtually where possible, especially with non-company parties (e.g. candidate interviews and partners).
  • Work from home according to guidelines published on ALL NRG’s intranet.
  • If you are planning to travel voluntarily to a high-risk country with increased COVID-19 cases, we’ll ask you to work from home for 14 calendar days. You will also be asked not to come into physical contact with any colleagues during this time.

 

General hygiene rules:

  • Remain home if you have a fever. Stay home when you are sick.
  • Wash your hands after using the toilet, before eating, and if you cough/sneeze into your hands (follow the 20-second hand-washing rule). You can also use the sanitizers you’ll find around the office.
  • Cough/sneeze into your sleeve, preferably into your elbow. If you use a tissue, discard it properly and clean/sanitize your hands immediately.
  • For office workers: open the windows regularly to ensure open ventilation.
  • Avoid touching your face, particularly eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands to prevent from getting infected.

 

Jobsites practices:

The following steps must be taken to maintain a safe site:

  • Prior to mobilizing to the jobsite, everyone must comply with any national COVID-19 rules and regulations, such as test requirements, quarantine and isolation.
  • Additional the ALL NRG Project Manager or Planner will inform of any applicable customer requirements or restrictions prior to arriving to a jobsite.
  • Supervisors should ask the following questions to all employees prior to entering the jobsite. If they answer “yes” to any, they should be asked to leave the jobsite immediately. Anyone asked to leave should not return to work until 24-hours after they are free from a fever or signs of a fever without the use of fever-reducing medication.
    • Have you, or anyone in your family, been in contact with a person that has tested positive for COVID-19?
    • Have you, or anyone in your family, been in contact with a person that is in the process of being tested for COVID-19?
    • Have you, or anyone in your family traveled outside of the U.S. within the last two weeks?
    • Have you been medically directed to self-quarantine due to possible exposure to COVID-19?
    • Are you having trouble breathing or have you had flu-like symptoms within the past 48 hours, including: fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose, body aches, chills, or fatigue?
  • Instruct employees to clean their hands often with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60-95% alcohol or wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Soap and water should be used preferentially if hands are visibly dirty.
  • Provide soap and water and alcohol-based hand rubs in the workplace. Ensure that adequate supplies are maintained. Place hand rubs in multiple locations or in conference rooms to encourage hand hygiene.
  • Do not congregate in lunch areas.
  • Do not share tools.
  • Do not share personal protection equipment (PPE).
  • Sanitize reusable PPE per manufacturer’s recommendation prior to each use.
  • Ensure used PPE is disposed of properly.
  • Utilize disposable gloves where appropriate; instruct workers to wash hands after removing gloves.
  • Disinfect reusable supplies and equipment. Identify specific locations and practices for daily trash such as: paper, hand towels, food containers, etc. Instruct workers responsible for trash removal in proper PPE/hand washing practices.
  • Provide routine environmental cleaning (doorknobs, keyboards, counters, and other surfaces).
  • Do not use a common water cooler. Provide individual water bottles or instruct workers to bring their own.
  • Don’t stack trades if possible. (The stacking of trades describes project conditions where multiple tradespeople are working simultaneously in a single work area. Stacking creates congestion and crew interference and can also negatively affect productivity.)
  • Utilize disposable hand towels and no-touch trash receptacles.
  • Request additional/increased sanitation (disinfecting) of portable toilets.
  • Avoid cleaning techniques, such as using pressurized air or water sprays that may result in the generation of bioaerosols.
